Dr Simon Somogyi holds the Arrell Chair in the Business of Food and is a Full Professor in the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management, University of Guelph, Ontario, and an Honorary Senior Fellow in Agribusiness at the University of Queensland, Australia.He is a teacher and researcher in the area of agrifood sales and distribution management and smart and virtual food retailing and he has contributed to research and development projects on those themes in Asia, Africa, Australasia and North America. He is also a lead author on Canada’s Food Price Report, an annual publication that predicts Canadian food prices for the coming year and has appeared in print, radio and TV media outlets such as The BBC News, The Guardian, The Globe & Mail, Maclean’s, CTV, CBC and the National & Financial Posts
