Inventures 2025 – General Terms (“Terms”)
These Terms govern your online registration and attendance at and/or participation at Inventures 2025 (the “Event”). By registering for the Event the registered delegate agrees that they have read and accepted these Terms and agree to be legally bound by them.
Changes or Cancellation of the Event
Alberta Innovates (“AI”) makes every effort to ensure that Event program, speakers, topics and venues and dates are correct at the time of publishing. Circumstances beyond our control may necessitate substitutions, alterations, postponements, or cancellations to the content, format, themes, name, performers, hosts, moderators, venue, timing or dates of the Event.
AI will endeavor to notify registered delegates as soon as reasonably practicable of any postponements, or changes by posting the updated information on the official event website. If the Event is postponed or canceled, AI will provide registered delegates with either a substitute pass for the new Event date, or a full refund.
In the unlikely cancellation of the Event, our total liability to the registered delegate is limited to the refund of paid event registration fees. AI will not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by the registered delegate, their company or associated parties as a result of the cancellation including but not limited to travel or other hospitality related fees.
Registering on Behalf of Another
If you are registering on behalf of another person, it is your obligation to make sure that the person attending is aware of these Terms and acknowledges that registration in their name has been submitted and therefore accepts these Terms. By completing and submitting the registration form you are representing and guarantee that you have made the person attending aware of these Terms and that they have accepted these Terms.
Admittance
AI, without any liability or obligation to refund, reserves the right to refuse admittance to or to eject from the Event anyone that AI determines in its sole discretion:
- is behaving in a manner that could disrupt, hinder or cause a nuisance to the event or to the enjoyment of any other person or partner at the Event;
- represents a security or health & safety risk to the Event or to any person or partner; and/or
- fails to comply with, or is likely to fail to comply with, these Terms or other reasonable rules in place at the Event.
You agree to comply with all applicable laws in connection with your attendance or participation at the Event.
Attendance at the Event
Registered delegates are responsible for advising AI at the time of registration regarding any special access requirements required at the Event.
Lanyards and Credentials
For security and identification reasons, AI requires all registered delegates to display the official Event lanyard containing their credentials
Event App
If you choose to complete an Event app profile, your profile will be discoverable and visible in the app to other delegates. The app will be accessible for 90 days post the event closing.
Personal Information
By participating in the Event, the registered delegate agrees that their name, job title, and company name and details may be shared with select sponsors and partners.

Visa Requirements
It is the sole responsibility of the registered delegate to take care of all visa requirements and to allow sufficient time for the visa application procedure.
In the instance that a visa is not granted to the Registered delegate, AI is under no obligation to refund the attendee outside of the Refund Policy below.
Materials shared or distributed at or in connection with the Event are intended for information purposes only.
Force Majeure
AI is not liable if the Event is, in whole or in part, cancelled, rescheduled or postponed, or for any failure or delay to perform our obligations under these Terms, if such cancellation, rescheduling or postponement results from anything beyond AI’s reasonable control and/or the reasonable control of AI’s representatives and/or suppliers including, without limitation,acts of God, war, terrorism, labour disputes, pandemics or epidemics, global health emergencies, governmental action, or mechanical, electronic or communications failure or degradation, or any anything else that renders performance of the Event, in whole or in part, impracticable, illegal or impossible.
Registration Fees
A valid ticket entitles its holder to entry to the relevant Event as an attendee only.
Delivery
Once a successful transaction has been completed, registration details will be delivered in electronic soft- copy via email to the email address submitted during registration. Please ensure to correctly enter the email address registration details should be sent to.
All registrations must be assigned to a single attendee, and all attendee details must be completed at the time of registration including but not limited to name and address in order to issue a ticket/confirmation code. Ticket/confirmation code reassignment after registration is subject to the Terms.
The ticket/confirmation code acts as a receipt for the transaction and can be used to gain entry to the Event. The confirmation number can be used to access the mobile app, and also to collect credentials on-site.
Transfer of Registration
If a registered delegate finds that they cannot attend the Event, the registered delegate can sign into their registration and transfer to another person.
Refund and Cancellation
Registered delegate registration remains the property of AI and is a personal revocable license, which may be withdrawn, and admission to the Event may be refused at any time upon a refund of the printed registration price.
If for any reason the registered delegate is unable to attend the Event virtual or in-person, they may request to cancel their registration in writing to support@inventurescanada.caand based on the Refund Policy below a refund will be made in the same form as the original payment was received (for example, a credit card payment will refund to same credit card account number).
Refund Schedule
- Registration cancellations received prior to JANUARY 31, 2025, will be refunded 100%.
- Registration cancellations received between FEBRUARY 1, 2025 AND APRIL 14, 2025 be refunded at 50%.
- Registration cancellations received on or after APRIL 15, 2025 are not eligible for a refund.
